Carolina HOPE respects your privacy. This policy explains how we handle information through carolinahope.org and Carolina HOPE Studio.
Information you choose to share
When you use our Contact Form or HOPE Hero Volunteer Form, we receive the name, email address, phone number (when provided), and messages or volunteer interests you submit. Please share only what we need to respond. Do not include passwords, payment details, government identification numbers, or sensitive medical information.
How we use your information
We use submissions to answer questions, follow up on requests, coordinate volunteer opportunities, and keep appropriate ministry records. Contacting us does not automatically subscribe you to a marketing mailing list.
Submissions are stored in our WordPress form system and sent to the Carolina HOPE Studio Inbox for authorized administrators to review. Form notifications are also sent to our ministry contact email. Administrators may add private follow-up notes and update a message’s status.
Stories and photos
Stories, display names, Scripture, and photos approved for publication may be visible to anyone on the public website. We require permission before publishing a Story of HOPE. Private consent notes are not included in the public story feed. Contact and volunteer submissions are not automatically published as stories. Contact us if you want to discuss a published story or photo.
Technical information and service providers
Our hosting and security services may process technical information such as IP addresses, browser details, request times, and pages requested to operate the site, diagnose problems, and protect it from abuse. Administrator sign-in uses cookies or browser storage to maintain secure sessions.
We use Hostinger for the WordPress website, Supabase for Studio sign-in, content, media, and Inbox storage, and Vercel to host the Studio application. The public website loads fonts from Google Fonts, which receives the technical information needed to deliver those fonts. Providers process information needed to supply these services.
Sharing and protection
We do not sell personal information. Access to private submissions is limited to authorized administrators and service providers supporting our operations. We may disclose information when required by law or reasonably necessary to protect people, our services, or legal rights.
We use reasonable safeguards, including encrypted connections and administrator access controls. No online system or email service can guarantee complete security.
How long we keep information
We retain information for as long as reasonably needed to respond, coordinate ministry activities, maintain appropriate records, and meet legal or security needs. Some information may remain in backups or email records for longer. Archiving an Inbox message does not immediately delete all copies.
Your choices and questions
You may ask us to review, correct, or delete information you have shared, or raise a concern about a story or photo, by emailing ben@carolinahope.org. We may need to verify your request and may retain information required for legal, security, or legitimate recordkeeping purposes.
Links to other websites take you to services with their own privacy practices. We may update this policy as our services change and will show the updated date here.
